PAL Robotics Announces an Open Contest for Biped Humanoid Robot Design, a Chance to Win $1200 for Contesters

PAL Robotics, a humanoid robots R & D company has recently announced a prize of $1200 for winning contester who is selected for best cover design of its next generation of biped humanoid robots under construction.

Barcelona, Spain, July 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- PAL Robotics, a robotics company focusing on the research & development and commercialization of humanoid robots, has announced an open contest for suggesting a design for its third series of humanoid robots, which would provisionally be called REEM-C. The contest is open for everyone who can send a pencil sketch for outer design of a humanoid robot that can be adopted for development of PAL Robotics’ next generation humanoid robots.

PAL Robotics is expecting the contesters to suggest a new and exciting aesthetic design for the external cover of their next generation humanoid robots. “We have earmarked an amount of US $2000 to be given away to three winning contesters. You can submit just a simple sketch done with a pencil or a rendering of a 3D model (and of course everything in the between),” says Davide Faconti, CEO of PAL Robotics. “However, we expect our contesters to be careful about the design being friendly, not toy-like, realistic, and consistent.”

The designs can be submitted by the 1st October 2010 and the winners will be announced on the 15th October 2010. The winners of first, second, and third prizes will get prize money of US $1200, 600, and 200 respectively. Besides just getting this amount, the winners will be the pride-owners of having contributed to the creation of one of the most advanced humanoid robots in the world.
