Brooklyn Author Explains Why She’s Blacque and Blue

Layne Blacque is an author with a surprising formula for passionate angst.

Brooklyn, NY, December 19, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Layne Blacque was blissfully unaware of how competitive multicultural e-publishing could be until the release of Liquid Assets (www.oceansmistpress.com), her freshman ode to interracial passion.

“I’d only read a few ebooks when I got started, so, I wasn’t clear about the formula,” Blacque says. “I just sat down and wrote the kind of story I wanted to read.”

The kind of story Ms. Blacque wanted to read instantly became Ocean’s Mist Press’s first best-selling release. Liquid Assets, her sassy and sometimes unsympathetic ode to love, received high marks from readers and reviewers alike, causing the new author to become a name to watch.

Then, just as suddenly as she blazed onto the scene, Ms. Blacque disappeared, leaving many readers scratching their heads.

“Life demanded that I take some time off,” the author explains. “I was still working as a freelance writer, but I didn’t have as much time to commit to writing romances. Even during my hiatus, though, I never stopped thinking of sensual stories. I realized I would have to make room for them, again.”

First up is Cold Comfort, a sizzling novel about a sexy couple who get it all wrong, but for some reason, their love is just right.

Cold Comfort will be available from Ocean’s Mist Press on December 22, 2006.

Ms. Blacque runs a blog/website—a forum she laughingly calls her “all-purpose ramble/bluster/promotional machine.” She can be reached at www.saintblacque.com.
