Coughlan Companies Announces College Scholarship Winners

Coughlan Companies is awarding scholarships to 19 full-time college students in Minnesota, Illinois and England, as part of its larger Community Giving initiative. The scholarship program includes Community Scholarships, presented to students majoring in specific areas of study, and Employee Dependent Scholarships, awarded to children of Coughlan Companies employees attending accredited institutions.

Mankato, MN, August 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Coughlan Companies is awarding scholarships to 19 full-time college students in Minnesota, Illinois and England, as part of its larger Community Giving initiative. The scholarship program includes Community Scholarships, presented to students majoring in specific areas of study, and Employee Dependent Scholarships, awarded to children of Coughlan Companies employees attending accredited institutions.

Community Scholarships
Coughlan Companies is granting 16 community scholarships of $2,500 each to deserving students studying Pre-school Education, Elementary Education, Library Science, or other areas of study such as English Language and Literature or Design. The students must be enrolled as a junior or senior in a full‑time undergraduate or graduate course of study at an eligible two or four‑year college or university, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or above.

The community based scholarship program is aligned with Coughlan Companies’ giving philosophy which champions training educators in library science, reading instruction, and other relevant programs to support children’s literacy for grades K-8. 2010 recipients of the Community Scholarships award include:

Employee Dependent Scholarships
Coughlan Companies also assists employees’ children who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $3,000 each and offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice. 2010 recipients of the Employee Dependent Scholarships include:
