Giants Antonio Pierce Hosts Holiday Event for NY Youth

NY Giants Antonio Pierce hosts 1st Annual Tackle Squad Holiday Luncheon

New York, NY, December 19, 2006 --(PR.com)-- New York Giants Antonio Pierce will host his first Annual Tackle Squad Holiday Luncheon on December 19, 2006 at Dave & Busters in Time Square at 2:30 pm.

The hard-hitting linebacker will play host at this inaugural event to fifteen teenage boys from area group homes. They will enjoy lunch, play games, and get to know the man under the helmet.

Pierce, who grew up in the streets of Compton, Calif., knows first hand the challenges teens face, and it is that knowledge that has prompted him to launch the Antonio Pierce Tackle Squad.

This mentoring program will provide Antonio an opportunity to mentor teenage boys and help steer them in the right direction. He is able to share his struggles with peer pressure, negative influences and temptations that can persuade teens to make bad decisions.

Pierce feels it is his responsibility as a professional athlete to support his community and in the past few months has adopted a program called “Antonio’s A-List” at Giants Academy, a charter academic program located in the Louise A. Spencer school in Newark, hosts a free football camp for kids in Compton California each year, and is a very active participant with the Giants Community affairs efforts.
