Milano Design International Launches ChargeCentral—the Coffee-Time Charger

Milano Design International, the Innovative Product Design and Manufacturing House, has Launched ChargeCentral—the First Fully Integrated Range of Furniture Capable of Charging Portable Electronic Devices.

London, United Kingdom, August 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Milano Design International is set to launch ChargeCentral, the first green wire-free charging platform designed specifically for the hospitality industry.

Milano Design has incorporated a state-of-the-art charging interface into new and existing furniture or fittings. Customers will be able to charge their portable electronic devices-including most mobile phones, digital cameras and PDAs-while enjoying their favourite drink or snack.

Milano ChargeCentral uses conductive charging technology, which can charge up to five devices simultaneously while saving power when no device is connected.

ChargeCentral has strong green credentials: the charger was awarded an Energy Star 5-star rating, which is the highest industry classification and is awarded to only the most efficient charging devices. This is an important, considering the average mobile phone charger consumes two-thirds of its power even when a phone is not connected.

ChargeCentral is also completely safe. If the charging mat is touched by anything except the Milano conductive receiver, the power is instantly shut off and is only restored when the object is removed. Even spills and splashes won't affect ChargeCentral or its functionality.

Daran Charlton, client liaison at Milano Design International commented:

"We were asked by a leading global coffee chain to design a practical and safe charging platform for its customers and, in conjunction with our design partners, ChargeCentral was born. As WiFi has become available in many retail outlets, a sleek charging platform is the next natural step—almost any location offering customer hospitality can benefit from this product."

Milano Design is also making ChargeCentral available for use in the home by incorporating the technology into kitchen worktops, tables and cabinets. A new bespoke design service is available by visiting the company's website at http://www.milano-international.com
