DirectRooms.com – Zurich Museums Open Late for the Long Night of Museums

DirectRooms.com has learnt that multiple museums and galleries across Zurich will be opening their doors until the early hours allowing visitors to see the best of Zurich’s art and culture in just one night.

Zurich, Switzerland, August 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Long Night of Museums will feature a total of 38 museums and galleries, all of which will be granting audiences late night admission at the beginning of September. The evening will represent a varied program of guided tours, films, music and dance as well as culinary delicacies from each of the participating venues. Exhibitors taking part include the Kunsthalle which will be showcasing contemporary art as well as the famous Tram Museum.

As the annual event takes place for one night only demand for Zurich hotels will be much higher than usual as visitors aim to be as close to as many museums as possible.

Admission to all of the participating museums and galleries will be at a set rate of 25 Swiss Francs. The entrance fee also includes use of all public transport in the city of Zurich to enable visitors to go and see a wide variety of the featured exhibitions.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com, commented: “This special late night opening enables visitors to see Zurich’s wide spectrum of art and culture in one condensed evening. As such, people will be looking to be as close as possible so they can take everything in. Therefore to get a good hotel room it’s advisable to book in advance during this busy period.”

The evening will start on Saturday 4th September 2010 from 19:00 and will carry on until 08:00 Sunday 5th September.
