New CCC Board Announces Schedule of 2010-2011 Events

Panels, presentations and discussions on all aspects of the music business are planned by the California Copyright Conference for monthly events in Los Angeles.

Sherman Oaks, CA, August 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- With an unwavering dedication to examining issues facing the music industry, the California Copyright Conference puts a special emphasis on matters of intellectual property. In that spirit, the new Board of the CCC recently met under the direction of incoming president, Shawn LeMone (ASCAP).

"We have an exciting series of monthly programs for everyone involved in the music business," LeMone stated, "with experts speaking on a variety of topics including the latest in legal, economic and global issues, film and TV licensing, branding, Latin music, and more."

Plans are moving forward for dynamic meetings for CCC members as well as non-members with an interest in the music business. The announced slate of events reads as follows:

September 14, 2010 - "Music Industry Legal Update"
October 12, 2010 - "State of the Music Industry: an Economic Update"
November 9, 2010 - "They're Playing My Music: The Future of Tracking Performances"
January, 2011 - "Current Realities of Licensing Music for Film and TV"
February, 2011 - "The Latin Music Market"
March, 2011 - "Brands Meet Bands: Marketing & Music"
April, 2011 - "A World of Music: Changes in the International Marketplace"

In addition to LeMone, current members of the CCC Board include Jeremy Blietz (Warner-Chappell), Cedar Boschan (Hurewitz, Boschan & Co.), Anne Cecere (BMI), Cheryl Dickerson (Music Consultant), Paula Franceschi (Valjean Music), Ken Freundlich (Freundlich Law), John Scott G (Golosio Publishing), James Leach (SESAC), Kent Liu (Concord Records), Eric Palmquist (Disney Music), Eric Polin (Universal Pictures), Dan Rimas (NBC Universal), Robin Schwartz (Music Consultant), Marrsha Sill (APM), and Diane Snyder-Ramirez (Royalty Review Council).

Also taking part in the Board meeting were several past presidents of the organization, including Ed Arrow (Universal Music), Cheryl Hodgson (Hodgson Law), Michael Morris (Valensi Rose), Teri Nelson Carpenter (Reel Muzik Werks), Jonathan Rosner and Steve Winogradsky (Winogradsky/Sobel).

When and Where:
All CCC programs will take place at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, 15433 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, CA 91403 (near Sepulveda & Ventura Blvd., just West of the 405 freeway). The parking entrance is on Orion Avenue and parking is free with validation at the event. Check-in is at 6:15 p.m., cocktails begin at 6:30, dinner at 7:00 with the presentation to follow.
