Online Conference to Highlight Business Value of Green Teams

AltaTerra Research and eBay to discuss how to effectively engage employees on sustainability goals in online conference on September 16.

Palo Alto, CA, August 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Many organizations have green teams, but how green teams can add business value is a story that is still developing. To address this question of value, or ‘return on investment,’ AltaTerra Research is pleased to announce the online conference, “Green Teams and Employee Engagement: How Volunteers Can Help Meet Corporate Sustainability Goals,” to be held Thursday, September 16 at 11:00 am Pacific / 2:00 pm Eastern.

Based on research by AltaTerra Research, this web conference will illuminate the type of benefits that green teams can be instrumental in helping to deliver, and how they are best organized to do so.

“The business value of volunteer green teams has the potential to move beyond employee engagement, although this is the lens through which green teams are typically viewed,” said Anneke Hohl, Senior Analyst at AltaTerra Research and lead author on the forthcoming green teams report. “At their best, green teams can help to achieve results that are directly meaningful to the organization and its employees.”

Ms. Hohl will provide an overview of AltaTerra’s green teams research and report findings, including a framework for business value maturity and key success factors. She will be joined by Lorin May, Senior Manager of Environment Programs at eBay, who will discuss how eBay is engaging employees on sustainability and green teams. The session will be moderated by Don Bray, President of AltaTerra Research and author of the firm’s first report on green teams, “Corporate Green Teams: A New Social Trend at Work?” published in June 2008.

This online conference addresses key value-related questions facing green team leaders and volunteer members, as well as company executives and business function managers. Green Team leaders and members, sustainable business professionals, employee engagement specialists, senior executives seeking to establish or engage green teams, and business function managers across the organization are encouraged to attend.

Further information about the online conference and registration are available online at www.altaterra.net/event/greenteams.

A limited number of press passes are available. Press pass requests may be submitted at www.altaterra.net/?presspass.
