KY Based Company Opens Third Collegiate Merchandise Apparel Retail Location
Louisville, KY, August 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Following a successful launch of two Lexington stores, Fan Outfitters will expand to the Shelbyville Road Plaza, across from mall St. Matthews with over 10,000 square feet of University of Louisville and University of Kentucky collegiate merchandise, novelty items and more. The store opens this Sunday, August 22nd. The Dawahare family knew it was time to expand the brand across the state and enter the Louisville market with a store that will be a complete fan experience.
Founders, Stephen Dawahare and Joe Kawaja describe Fan Outfitters as a store “that completely outfits the ‘true U of L or UK’ fan. We sell everything from a small car decal to an office chair embellished with the UK/U of L logos,” said Kawaja. It will be a one stop shop and will completely outfit the ultimate fan. With music, televisions, and pure excitement, shoppers will feel like they are at a sporting event rather than an apparel store. The store will also become the destination shop for the new Nike and Adidas line of apparel which will be available for purchase online at www.fanoutfitters.com. The new site provides fans with a 24/7 access to the hottest gear available.
Dawahare and Kawaja are hitting the road with their concept of providing fans everything they want by recently investing in a 54 foot mobile unit that will travel to various events and cities.
With such a huge interest in collegiate merchandise, the company's first store filled a major void in an industry that is generally fragmented without a national player. “We are fans who know what fans want, to provide that to others is an amazing opportunity,” noted Dawahare. The company has gained insight into a number of other collegiate markets and plans for expansion are already underway. The company’s first location opened in Lexington, KY in September 2009 and the second opened this month.
