Robert Kennedy, Jr., key environmental advocate, will speak at GOVgreen Conference and Exposition taking place this November 9 - 10 in Washington, DC.

Alexandria, VA, August 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- GOVgreen Conference and Exposition announced that Robert Kennedy, Jr., President of Waterkeeper Alliance and long-time environmental advocate, is the featured keynote during the conference taking place this November 9 – 10 in Washington, DC.

“We’re proud to have such a distinguished speaker for our inaugural event,” says Ann Seltz, President of the Center for Environmental Innovation and Leadership. “GOVgreen education and exhibits will provide independent and up-to-date information for federal and military managers charged with greening programs and processes.” The 55 federal agencies are charged by Executive Order 13514 to set and meet annual targets to reduce consumption, conserve resources and convert to renewable and sustainable energy and products. The Executive Order, signed last fall by President Obama, sets water and wastewater goals for the first time. “Our attendees will find Mr. Kennedy’s experience with local, national and global water conservation interesting and useful,” says Seltz.

In addition to his Waterkeeper role, Kennedy serves as senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, is a professor at Pace University School of Law’s Environmental Litigation Clinic and was co-host of Ring of Fire on Air American Radio. He previously worked as the lead attorney in helping Riverkeeper restore the Hudson River. Riverkeeper’s success helped create more than 160 Waterkeeper organizations worldwide. For his accomplishments and active role in environmental issues, Kennedy has been named on of TIME magazines, “Heroes of the Planet” and one of Rolling Stone’s “100 Agents of Change.
