ABC 11 Eyewitness News Anchor Barbara Gibbs Serves as Emcee for "Auction for the Animals"

Raleigh, NC, September 12, 2010 --( ABC 11 Eyewitness News ( has announced that news anchor Barbara Gibbs served as Master of Ceremonies for the Second Chance Pet Adoptions’ 10th Annual Auction for the Animals event, held July 31 at Casper’s Delightful Inspirations. Gibbs helped present the auction’s numerous activities that included a silent auction, chance auction, live auction and raffle drawing. Auctioned items included Doggie Daycare gift certificates, a $100 Bailey’s Fine Jewelry gift card and Disney World Park Hopper Passes. There was a magic show and a Doggie DNA Guessing Game as well.

“Second Chance Pet Adoption’s Auction for the Animals is always an exciting community event, and we were honored to be a part of it,” said John Idler, president and general manager of ABC11 Eyewitness News. “This event was a great way to raise awareness of the needs of homeless pets in the Triangle.”
