WellSpan Health Chooses RASMAS to Manage Medical Product Recalls

WellSpan Health to Use Mitretek Systems’ Risk and Safety Management Alert System (RASMAS) to Reduce Recall Processing Costs and Improve Patient Safety

Falls Church, VA, January 04, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Mitretek Systems announced that WellSpan Health will join the growing number of hospitals that have chosen to utilize the Risk And Safety Management Alert System (RASMAS) to automate their recall processes.

RASMAS is web-based subscription service that automates and improves the way hospitals receive, track and manage product alerts and recalls. It is currently in use in hospitals throughout the United States and Canada. Subscribers report that RASMAS has reduced the amount of time they spend tracing and managing alerts by 80 percent.

WellSpan facilities across York and Adams counties in Pennsylvania and northern Maryland will receive safety alerts and recall notices from RASMAS. The staff will then use the workflow tools to track all actions they take to remove potentially harmful products from use. The comprehensiveness of RASMAS brings recall management practices into alignment across every department in the hospital and provides management with the oversight it needs to ensure success in this important area of patient safety.

"It won't be long before WellSpan Health starts to see the real benefits of RASMAS," says Clay Chase, RASMAS National Sales Manager. "By streamlining their alert processes, WellSpan is improving patient safety and, like most RASMAS subscribers, I believe will see a decrease in the administrative costs associated with managing alerts."
