Padilla & Associates Donates to Catholic School to Purchase School Uniforms for Underprivileged Students


Padilla & Associates Donates to St. Leo the Great Catholic School to help provide school uniforms for kids.

San Antonio, TX, September 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Padilla & Associates Wealth Management Group recently made a donation to St. Leo the Great Catholic School to assist the institution in purchasing uniforms for 28+ students ranging from early childhood (3 year-olds) to 8th grade. Each student will receive a complete uniform set which is comprised of a winter coat, pant/skirt, shirt/blouse, ties, jumpers, blazer, and sweater.

“I’m happy we were able to help so many students this school year obtain uniforms. It’s one less thing they have to worry about when school begins,” said Dion R. Padilla, President & CEO of Padilla & Associates and an Investment Advisor Representative with NEXT Financial Group, Inc., member FINRA/SIPC. As a life-long San Antonio native, he grew up attending a parochial school himself. He feels deeply connected to San Antonio and it has not only become a place to do business but it has become part of the culture surrounding his firm.

The San Antonio-based firm will have continued involvement with St. Leo throughout the academic year. It will be involved in a number of programs such as an after school tutoring program, a mentorship program, and scholarship programs. The company will also be involved in special school celebrations such as the October 9th Parish Festival, November 10th Feast Day and many others.

St. Leo the Great Catholic School is located in the heart of San Antonio. It was founded in 1920 by the Sisters of Divine Providence and has served the community for over 90 years. They spread the good news of Jesus Christ by providing affordable, quality, faith-based education. The school is fully accredited through the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department and participates in the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Over 70% of the student body participate in the program and receive tuition assistance or scholarships. The school believes in helping students grow in knowledge, wisdom and strength through tutoring, extracurricular activities and an outstanding athletic program, all within a disciplined Christian environment.
