ATC Logistics & Electronics Makes Donation to Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind

Seven sonic sealing machines to be utilized in manufactured work produced by the visually impaired

Fort Worth, TX, September 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- ATC Logistics & Electronics (ATCLE), a subsidiary of ATC Technology Corporation (ATC) (NASDAQ: ATAC), today announced that it has presented the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind with a donation of seven sonic sealing machines, four of which came directly from ATCLE. A client of ATCLE’s donated the additional three machines. The sealers, which use vibration instead of heat to seal plastic blister packaging in manufactured goods, are an ideal match for the needs of Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind.

“We were thrilled when we discovered Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind and realized that the equipment we no longer needed could be used by such a worthy organization that impacts thousands of lives in our community,” said Rick Helmreich, ATC Logistics & Electronics controller.

The Dallas Lighthouse provides jobs, job training and other services that empower and encourage its clients toward living independently. The agency currently offers more than 150 manufacturing jobs in its Industrial and Sewing Centers and the majority of employees filling those positions are visually impaired.

New, the sealing machines are worth approximately $100,000 collectively. Each piece of equipment will be retrofitted to make it operable with two hands for optimum safety and will be put into service in September when the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind begins manufacturing a new product for the U.S. military.

“The timing could not have been better on ATCLE’s part. We are excited about a new product coming on line, and the sealing machines would have been an expenditure we would have incurred had ATCLE not contacted us at just the right time,” said Lyn Cossey, senior director of operations for Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind.

“We’re very grateful for the donation and the generosity of ATCLE and its client,” said Nancy Perkins, president of Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind.
