Compumod Appoints Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand

Sydney, Australia, October 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Compumod is pleased to announce that it has appointed Warwick Marx as Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.

Marx’s appointment comes after a career spanning over 20 years across a variety of Engineering and Business organisations. With Masters degrees in Engineering and Business, Warwick has previously worked as an Engineer for Holden, Autoliv and the RTA. Warwick then worked for Compumod from 1996 until 2002 (after its acquisition by MSC.Software). Moving on from his role with MSC.Software as National Business Manager saw Marx then work as General Manager for one of Australia’s Top 100 fastest growing companies as well as CIO for one of Australia’s largest outsources, Stellar Asia Pacific and CEO of Stellar BPS.

Compumod was first established in 1982 and quickly became the name to trust for the supply and support of advanced computer aided engineering simulation tools. After an eight year hiatus, Compumod has been re-established to meet the needs of the local Engineering Community and promote Computer Simulation technology throughout the industry. Compumod has recently been appointed sole partner in Australia and New Zealand for MSC.Software products.

MSC.Software’s Computer Simulation products have been helping engineers around the world since 1963 and are well recognised as leaders in their fields being used by 900 of the top 1000 manufacturers in the world. MSC.Software products accurately and reliably predict how products will behave in the real world to help engineers design better, more innovative products - quickly and cost effectively. Companies are able to eliminate slow and costly physical testing by creating and testing "virtual prototypes" that can be quickly evaluated for performance in any environment or conditions to achieve lasting competitive advantage.

Of his appointment Marx has commented, “With MSC.Software’s move back to a partner model, I am proud to have been approached to head up Compumod to service the Australian and New Zealand market. After having been involved in Australia’s first supercomputer based vehicle crash simulation in 1992 it is amazing the technological changes that have taken place in the last 18 years. Simulations once the domain of Supercomputers can now be performed on laptop computers. It is therefore exciting to be heading up a company committed to helping organisations use state of the art simulation tools to provide them a competitive advantage and sustainable return on investment.”
