MUMC Breast Surgeon Recognized for Outstanding Performance

Savannah, GA, September 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Raymond Rudolph, M.D., MPH, FACS, a breast surgeon at the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute (ACI) at Memorial University Medical Center, received an Outstanding Performance Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC). He is one of only 39 physicians nationwide to receive the award.

Rudolph was recognized for improving the quality of care delivered at the ACI, contributing to the ACI’s accreditation status, and demonstrating strong leadership, among other things.

Rudolph is serving a three-year term as a CoC cancer liaison physician. He is part of a national network of more than 1,600 volunteer physicians responsible for providing leadership and direction to establish, maintain, and support their facility’s cancer program.

Rudolph is co-founder of Memorial Health University Physicians – Center for Breast Care, the only practice in the region dedicated exclusively to breast health. He began his medical career in the U.S. military, where he served as a licensed practical nurse in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He later attended medical school at the University of South Dakota and completed his surgical residency training at Memorial University Medical Center. Rudolph earned a master’s degree in public health from Armstrong Atlantic State University. He is highly respected among his patients and fellow physicians and is past president of the medical staff at Memorial.
