Tickets Available from Al Brooks Tickets for Touring Production of “West Side Story”

Los Angeles, CA, September 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Tickets are still available from Al Brooks Tickets (www.albrooks.com) for the “West Side Story” tour that begins at The Fisher Theater in Detroit on September 30th, and comes to the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles on November 30th.

The revival of the ground-breaking Arthur Laurents-Leonard Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim musical “West Side Story” officially opened on Broadway on March 19th.

“West Side Story” is the tale of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet brought to the turbulent streets of the Upper West Side in 1950's New York City. Two star-crossed lovers, Tony and Maria, find themselves caught between the rival street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds, the 'Jets' and the 'Sharks.' According to the show’s producers, their struggle to exist together in a world of violence, hate and prejudice “is one of the most heart-breaking, relevant and innovative musical masterpieces of our time."

This staging of “West Side Story” introduces the unprecedented element of selectively weaving Spanish throughout both the book and songs. Both "I Feel Pretty" (sung by Maria) and "A Boy Like That" (sung by Anita) are delivered entirely in Spanish.

The touring cast off the smash hit revival includes Kyle Harris as Tony, Ali Ewoldt as Maria, Michelle Aravena as Anita, Joseph J. Simeone as Riff and German Santiago as Bernardo.

The production features scenic designs by James Youmans (Gypsy), costumes by Tony Award nominee David C. Woolard (The Farnsworth Invention, The Who's Tommy), lighting by Tony Award winner Howell Binkley (Gypsy, Jersey Boys), and sound design by Tony Award nominee Dan Moses Schreier (Gypsy, A Catered Affair).
