Savant Books and Publications Announces Release of Four Arrows' Newest Novel "Last Song of the Whales"

Savant Books and Publications LLC, Honolulu, Hawaii, publishers of significant books and enduring media for the 21st century, is pleased to announce the release of Four Arrows’ new book, "Last Song of the Whales."

Honolulu, HI, September 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- In this novella, a humpback whale mysteriously takes a mixed-blood American Indian professor to sea. While struggling to survive and learning to communicate with a pod of whales, the man rediscovers his Indigenous roots. In the process, he learns that thousands of whales may be on a suicide mission in the North Pacific in an effort to end human pollution of the ocean. However, when he realizes the dire effects the whales' actions could have for all of life on Earth, he and the whale work together- against all odds—to warn the world in time.

Of Cherokee/Creek/Scot-Irish ancestry, Four Arrows (Wahinkpe Topa), aka Don Trent Jacobs, Ph.D., Ed.D, is a former Dean of Education at Oglala Lakota College and currently a professor of educational leadership at Fielding Graduate University. He is the author of 19 books and over 100 chapters and articles on topics relating to Indigenous worldviews, education, critical thinking, social/ecological justice, cultural hegemony, human rights and wellness. The recipient of the 2004 Martin-Springer Institute Moral Courage Award for activism, Four Arrows lives with his artist wife in Mexico.

Four Arrows notes, "After having authored 19 non-fiction books that have been lauded by such thinkers as Noam Chomsky, Thom Hartmann, Sonita Gandhi, Dan Millman, Sam Keen, Vine Deloria, Jr., Eagleman and many of the world’s top environmental organizations, I sincerely hope my first work of fiction will have a significant impact on helping us return to a balanced way of living by remembering our non-human teachers."
