Texas Partnership CE Continuing Education Refresher Course

Shawn Davis Becomes Instructor for LTC Connection Partnership Classes in Texas

Austin, TX, September 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- As part of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, states must assure that long-term care insurance producers selling Partnership policies receive training and demonstrate an understanding of Partnership policies and their relationship to public and private coverage of long-term care.

Therefore, most states now require that producers complete initial and ongoing (refresher) training prior to selling, soliciting, or negotiating a long-term care insurance Partnership policy. In addition, many states are also implementing long-term care insurance training requirements as they adopt the NAIC Long-Term Care Insurance Model Act. These states require producers to complete specific training prior to selling, soliciting, or negotiating any LTC insurance policy (whether it be Partnership or non-Partnership policy). In fact, some states are implementing these long-term care insurance training requirements without implementing a Partnership program.

Shawn has joined LTC Connection in an effort to help educate long-term care insurance agents and equip them with the best education, therefore benefiting their clients. LTC Connection instructors have a passion for long-term care insurance that they want to share with other producers. Instructors must have three years experience and make their living selling long-term care insurance. These strict standards help ensure the best level of education possible.

Shawn Davis specializes in long-term care insurance and is currently a Sales Leader with Long-term Care Financial Partners where she trains and manages agents in the Austin/San Antonio area. She is also an active producer with LTCFP’s national accounts, worksites, strategic partnerships, and referral leads. As a past member of the National Agent Advisory Committee, she founded the Greater Austin LTC Guild in November 2006 and testified before Senate Committee on behalf of Senate Bill 22 on the importance of long-term care planning for Texas residents.

Shawn is now teaching classes in Texas. Texas’s long-term care insurance continuing education requirements include an initial 8-hour NAIC Partnership training course and a 4-hour course every 24 months CE cycle thereafter.
