Engineers Walk for Education Hosted by National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Charlotte Alumni Extension, UNC-Charlotte, Johnson C. Smith University, NC A&T State

Charlotte, NC, September 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Local area members of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) will come together to promote awareness available through education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Volunteers will walk door-to-door distributing information about area college admissions, area vocational schools, GED, SAT/ACT, NSBE Resources, and financial aid opportunities.

All are invited to participate. Volunteers include anyone who believes that college is a good thing: a NSBE member, a Greek sorority and fraternity member, a company representative, a church member, and a college graduate as well as a non-college graduate. Complimentary Breakfast & Free T-Shirt for 1st 100 Registered Volunteers.

Richard Allen McElrath, Sr, Board of Education, District 2 and David L. Howard, At-Large Council Representative will address volunteers. The Charlotte Enterprise Community (CEC) Career Cruiser will provide workstations and wireless internet access for community use. Registration and volunteer instructions will begin at 9:30 AM at the West Charlotte Recreation Center located at 2401 Kendall Drive in Charlotte, NC. There will be a College Fair on-site from 11am-1pm. The walk will benefit students of all ages.
