Votesane.com Adds New Feature: “Sanity Checks by Uncle Scott,” an Irreverent Diatribe about Politics, Sports, and Life

Alexandria, VA, September 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Votesane.com, the nonpartisan, political web portal recently launched by VotesaneTM PAC, added another interesting regular column called “Uncle Scott’s Sanity Checks” to its stable of political features. These columns, authored by veteran political fundraiser Scott Douglas, provide an unfiltered and politically incorrect view of official Washington and popular culture.

“Is it satire or truth? We leave it to the readers to decide. Regardless, ‘Uncle Scott’ delivers hard hitting, unadulterated opinions that will make people think, laugh, or just hate him endlessly,” explained Votesane Founder Rob Zimmer.

“Uncle Scott’s Sanity Checks” are written in a stream of consciousness format, and are completely the author’s own opinions. His rants and musings are ripped from the headlines and touch on news of the day: political, weird, sports and celebrity. Excerpts from the bi-weekly diatribe will also be shared via Twitter and Facebook. Here is a sampling of Uncle Scott headliners from his debut column:
· On Life…
“...life is good, you could be stuck on a mountaintop in Afghanistan with a rifle fearing another Taliban controlled TV system with no Snooki, no Keith Olberman…no MTV.”
· On Politics…
Delaware Senator “'Pepsodent' [aka Christine O’Donnell] fundraising sky rockets and hits $1.3 M in 48 hours…now there’s enough to pay off all her tax liens and live comfortably.”
· On Sports…
“NFL legend and untainted Heisman Trophy winner Roger Staubach calls today’s NFL a “wussy game”…..re the many protection of the QB rules….HeadlinersS agree.”

“Uncle Scott’s Sanity Checks” fits with the Votesane mantra of letting voters decide who’s right and who’s wrong. Votesane is a one-stop web experience created to be a political “storefront,” where Americans can shop for ideas and candidates of their choice. The user-friendly destination contains news, data, and insights into congressional members, political candidates and timely issues as well as a chance to influence government by donating to candidates and causes directly from the site. It also provides interfaces with social media, on-site polling, voting records, voter registration, and other features found nowhere on the Internet.

Other interesting features on Votesane.com include topical lists touching on big issues such as which politicians support building a mosque at Ground Zero and which do not. Interestingly, the list does not split down party lines. Other lists include: “Hero Candidates,” which has military veterans who are running for office, and “Women Who Win,” showing women hopefuls.

The site also has regular columns by two well-known pundits who provide regular opposing insights on topical issues facing the nation. Karen Finney, the former DNC communications director and Clinton staffer turned MSNBC political analyst, and John Feehery, former Speaker Hastert spokesperson turned TV commentator and author of the well-read Feehery Theory blog, both provide their respective perspectives. Following the summer recess, Finney and Feehery disagree about what the summer’s primary outcomes mean for the fall election season in their most recent pieces.

As a nonpartisan entity, Votesane relies on input from an advisory board, comprised of business and thought leaders representing all sides of the political equation. Votesane operates as a federally registered PAC, enabling it to collect and distribute donations to all political candidates.
