University in Madrid Achieves Complete WAN Optimization with AscenLink, BlueCoat and Websense

AscenVision, the Intelligent Network Provider, today announced that University Francisco de Vitoria uses AscenLink to achieve WAN link load balancing and fault tolerance in the campus, getting greater throughput with less number of links deployed.

San Jose, CA, January 10, 2007 --(PR.com)-- University Francisco de Vitoria (UFV) looks for a cost-effective solution that is able to take full advantage of all existing WAN links in an optimal manner, ensuring network continuity against contingent WAN link failure and improving the Internet access in laboratories.

The General Manager of Antea, Juan Pedro Gonzalez stated, "AscenLink aggregates several cost-effective ADSL links and delivers load balancing and fault tolerance of the traffic to provide the students with constant network continuity and maximum throughput. In addition, AscenLink's intuitive policy-based administrative framework effectively increases the productivity of MIS personnel."

"This is just the first stage of the project. We will continue to the next stage, which is to deploy AscenLink in the entire campus network for achieving constant network availability and optimal network performance. Furthermore, the third stage is being projected to integrate AscenLink in the campus wireless network," said Jesus Otero, the Technical Manager of the University Francisco de Vitoria.

"We are delighted to collaborate with Antea, one of our primary partners in Southern Europe, to deliver an integrated and highly affordable WAN and application optimization solution in Spain and its neighboring areas in Europe. The successful deployment of AscenLink in the University Francisco de Vitoria consolidates its leading place in the industry of WAN optimization. We will keep up the close partnership with Antea to deliver the best services and comprehensive technical supports to UFV in this multi-phased project," said Jacy Chang, Business Development Manager of AscenVision.

The project also deploys Websense, an Internet content filter, and a proxy-cache device manufactured by BlueCoat.
