Peekskill, NY, October 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- “There are many rivers in the United States and along these rivers are towns that were built from small settlements. ... This was an area and an era of good people with strong character who lived life to the fullest with respect for the natural resources and each other,” begins John J. Morabito’s Dogtown Days. This book is a love letter to the small neighborhood on the outskirts of Peekskill, a neighborhood full of true salt-of-the-earth, blue collar types going about the business of living. Genner finds himself working as a mechanic in Katonah, 30 miles outside of Peekskill, though to Genner it feels as far away as the moon. He fills his days with work, and his free time working on a stock car and pursuing his usual outdoor activities, but he finds himself thinking about Antoinette. After a particularly maudlin New Year’s Eve, he decides to hit the road and see if the spark between himself and Antoinette could turn into something more. Will Genner return home to Dogtown, or will he stay with Antoinette? Will he ever live his dream of seeing his beloved stock car race at The Peekskill Stadium?
