Builders Site Protection's Lead Ready™ RRP Rule Compliance Kit Now Available in Retail Stores

Builders Site Protection's popular Lead Ready kit provides remodeling contractors with everything they need to meet the EPA's RRP Rule including work area containment, personal protection, and lead dust clean-up supplies. The single-person kit is now available in select retail stores throughout the West Coast.

Vista, CA, October 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Builders Site Protection announced today that the single-person Lead Ready™ Containment Kit is now available in select retail stores throughout the West Coast. The kit includes the essential products needed for work area containment, personal protection, and clean-up supplies required to meet the Environmental Protection Agency’s Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule (RRP). The kit not only ensures RRP Rule compliance, it also save contractors time and up-front costs by including only what is absolutely necessary to get the job done safely. Rather than having to buy larger inventories of products at substantial capital expenditure, the Lead Ready™ kit gives contractors individual products at a significant savings over single item purchases. Builders Site Protection also offers a five-person plus Lead Ready™ kit for larger projects. The five-person plus kit is currently only available through the Builders Site Protection website; however, it will be introduced to retail stores in the near future.

Tony Singh, manager of Ashby Lumber in Berkeley, CA reports that the Lead Ready™ kits are selling briskly and that they are happy to help Northern California remodeling contractors meet the RRP Rule requirements. He notes that fines for violation are very steep, so builders seem relieved to be able to get everything they need for a small job in one place.

Enforcement of the EPA’s RRP Rule began on October 1, 2010. Remodeling contractors found to be violating the Rule could face fines of up to $37,500 per day per violation. The EPA will not fine builders that were enrolled in a certification course by September 30, 2010 and will complete training by December 31, 2010. For more detailed information about RRP Rule requirements, read through the Small Entity Compliance Guide to Renovate Right; available on the EPA’s website at http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/sbcomplianceguide.pdf.
