Literature and Latte Sponsors NaNoWriMo, Announces Scrivener Offers

Discount of 20% on new Scrivener 2.0 for Mac for participants, 50% discount on Scrivener for Mac or new Scrivener for Windows for winners.

Truro, United Kingdom, October 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Literature & Latte Ltd, creators of Scrivener, are proud to announce they are once again sponsoring the 2010 NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in November.

Writers aiming to create a 50,000 word novel in just 30 days will benefit from a range of special offers on the company’s award winning software, dedicated to the structuring and composition of long texts such as novels, screenplays, theses and research documents:

All winners will be awarded a special 50% discount code on either the forthcoming Scrivener 2.0 for Mac or New Scrivener for Windows, to be launched in early 2011.

There will be a 20% discount on Scrivener 2.0 for the Mac’s normal regular licence cost of $45 throughout November and December that can be used by anyone, whether they win or not. Just enter the code "NANOWRIMO" in the "Coupon Code" text field during purchase.

The 20% offer only applies to the Mac version, as the Windows version is not on sale until 2011. However, PC-based NaNoWriMo participants intrepid enough to help with testing will be able to download and use a public beta of Scrivener for Windows from October 25th.

A special NaNoWriMo trial version of Scrivener 2.0 for the Mac will be made available towards the end of October at http://www.literatureandlatte.com/nanowrimo.html. Normally, Scrivener's free trial period lasts for 30 non-consecutive days, but for the special NaNoWriMo version this will be extended to run from its October launch to the 7th December, giving participants the opportunity to test Scrivener fully before committing to it. Mac users can also still download the 1.x trial to get familiar with the program in the meantime.

Notes For Editors:

Literature & Latte is a shareware company whose sole product is Scrivener.

Scrivener is designed especially for working on the first drafts of long documents; unlike most word processors and page layout programs, Scrivener's toolset is dedicated to the creation of content rather than the appearance of a document.

Features such as split screen and the ability to import media documents (including web pages, images, sound, video and PDF files) allow writers to refer to research as they write.

Meanwhile, Scrivener's integrated corkboard and outliner allow users to plan ahead or restructure after the first draft is finished.

Once completed, drafts can be printed directly from Scrivener or exported to a variety of common word processor file formats for final formatting and submission.

Scrivener has been enthusiastically adopted by novelists, screenwriters, lawyers, and journalists alike, with bestselling novelist Michael Marshall Smith describing it as "the biggest software advance for writers since the word processor."
