Hearts of Gold’s Star-Studded Fall Fundraising Gala, "Hooray for Hollywood," to be Held 10/28/10 in NYC

14th Annual Event, Hosted by CNN’s Soledad O’Brien and Law & Order: SVU’s Tamara Tunie, Brings New Hope to NYC’s Homeless Families

New York, NY, October 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Hearts of Gold (http://www.heartsofgold.org), a not-for-profit organization with the mission to improve the lives of New York City’s homeless mothers and their children, will present its 14th Annual Fall Fundraising Gala, “Hooray for Hollywood,” at 6:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 28, 2010. The event, which will be held at Metropolitan Pavilion (125 West 18th Street, NYC), will feature Co-Mistresses of Ceremonies Soledad O’Brien, Anchor and Special Correspondent for CNN and Goodwill Ambassador for Hearts of Gold, along with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’s Tamara Tunie, also an accomplished producer and director as well as a member of Hearts of Gold’s esteemed Advisory Board.

The red-carpet evening includes a cocktail reception and dinner, as well as silent and live auctions with something for everyone, from fashion and beauty to travel and sports. Attendees may purchase keys to a “Treasure Chest” for a chance to win a 10K Gold Amor Heart Pendant with Diamond by Me&Ro, personally selected for Hearts of Gold by designer and CEO Robin Renzi. Following the auctions, a fashion show will present the fall collections of Beth Bowley and Transit, selected pieces from Kyle Westphal, and the U.S. runway debut of the re-branded Teenflo line, now named Judith & Charles. The night will be capped off with a celebrity-DJ’ed after-party, “The Sequel.”

Proceeds from the Gala, which is the organization’s main source of funding, will be used in support of the 900 mothers and children in residence annually in three shelters “adopted” by Hearts of Gold: Nazareth Housing, Nazareth House Harlem, and Semiperm HDFC. Since its inception in 1996, Hearts of Gold has helped more than 10,000 homeless New York City mothers and children exit the city’s shelters and thrive on their own.

“Nationwide, families with children are the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population. At Hearts of Gold in New York City, we support moms and kids not only when they are in the shelters, but also as they transition out of them and establish homes of their own,” said Deborah Koenigsberger, Founder & Executive Director. “We are honored by the support of Soledad O’Brien and Tamara Tunie, as well as all of our donors and volunteers who make a difference in the daily lives of mothers and children in need.”

Individual ticket packages are available from $300 - $1,000 and the “Hooray for Hollywood Platinum Table” is priced at $10,000, which includes 10 tickets. Tickets to the after-party, which runs from 10:30 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. and includes open bar and dancing, are $75. Find all ticket packages online at http://www.heartsofgold.org/upcomingevents.html. A limited number of event sponsorship opportunities are still available.
