Augusta Pictures Launches 2007 Screenplay Contest

Los Angeles, CA, January 15, 2007 --( Augusta Pictures announces the launch of its 2007 Augusta Pictures Screenplay Contest which runs from January 15 through October 15, 2007. The contest provides a unique opportunity for a screenwriter to learn and grow under the guidance of a film producer/script doctor.

The winning screenwriter will work one-on-one with Augusta Pictures founder Diana Osberg in developing their screenplay for possible production. Ms. Osberg will personally guide the writer through the entire process of developing a feature script. Submitted screenplays must be original works and the sole property of the applicant(s). All entries must be in English, feature-length only, and must be unsold, unoptioned and unproduced. Any genre is accepted.

Augusta Pictures is a feature film and television production company founded by producer Diana Osberg. The Dunk and Tickle by Jennifer Harrison took top honors in the 2005 Augusta Pictures Screenplay Contest and is currently in development at Augusta Pictures. In addition, their slate of projects includes the feature scripts Blind Angel and Flight to Freedom and a television series entitled Mix Trac.

The screenplay My Romance by Diana Cobbold captured first place in the 2006 Augusta Pictures Screenplay Contest. Ms. Cobbold will work directly with Ms. Osberg in developing the winning screenplay. The story, set in the cool jazz scene of New York and Europe in the 1950s and 1960s, revolves around the life of music producer and manager Helen Keane and the unspoken love she held for her client, jazz legend Bill Evans.

Previously with Sony Pictures Entertainment, Ms. Osberg has worked with many of the industry’s top studio executives, was a member of the creative development staff for an A-list actor/producer and is a valued script doctor and story analyst for producers, directors and writers. She developed and co-wrote the award winning feature The Journey, produced the feature Dog Eat Dog and studied screenwriting with Oscar nominated writer Janet Roach.
