Surgeon Joins Women & Infants' Oncology Staff

Providence, RI, October 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Ashley R. Stuckey, MD, has joined the staff at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island as a gynecologic oncologist and breast surgeon in the Program in Women’s Oncology. She will also serve as assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Stuckey earned a bachelor’s of arts degree in French from Davidson College, and a medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She also completed a pair of fellowships – in pelvic surgery at the Lahey Clinic and in gynecology/breast oncology at Women & Infants.

Dr. Stuckey has published and presented research on several topics, including clinical characteristics and choices regarding risk reducing surgery in BRCA mutation carriers, characterizing micrometastatic nodal disease in breast cancer, and antitumor activity of vitamin D and derivatives in the treatment of ovarian cancer. She has also co-authored chapters in the Textbook of Gynecological Oncology and Gynecologic Tumor Board.

Dr. Stuckey is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Society of Gynecologic Oncology, Society of Surgical Oncologists, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
