Research Results: Cleanicity’s Kitty Litter Gripper Mat Receives High Marks for Effectiveness and Cat Acceptance from Renowned Animal Behaviorist, Barbara Meyers

Barbara Meyers of the Holistic Animal Consulting Center tested the Kitty Litter Gripper Mat with eight known cats over a 30-day period. The test results indicate the product is effective at reducing litter tracking, without adding undue anxiety to cats.

Austin, TX, October 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Today, Cleanicity released the results of a 30-day test of its Kitty Litter Gripper Mat conducted by Barbara Meyers of the Holistic Animal Consulting Center. The Kitty Litter Gripper Mat is a cat litter mat made of 30 sticky layers that reduces cat litter tracking and simplifies litter mat cleanup.

“Sticky surfaces can cause anxiety in cats so I had strong reservations about the Kitty Litter Gripper Mat,” Meyers said. “I did, however, feel it was worthwhile to see for myself.”

In the interest of creating a broad and comprehensive study rather than a single, anecdotal experience, Meyers used the Kitty Litter Gripper Mat with eight known cats. All of the cats are non-genetic members of the same feline family, of both genders, and include short- and longhaired cats. All the litter boxes have low front entries and 50 percent have hoods/covers.

According to Meyers, the overall test results indicate that the performance of Kitty Litter Gripper Mat is excellent. Specifically, the test results show:

· Immediate acceptance without hesitation by all cats.
· The sticky factor is adequate to fully perform its intended purpose but not sticky enough to insult the paws.
· Tracking of litter is cut down by at least 80% or more.
· The dustier the litter (like the common clay litters) and the general environment, the more frequently you will need to change the mat’s sheets.
· Multi-cat households with high traffic at any particular location will also require the need to change the sheets more frequently.
· Of the four types of litter used with the Kitty Litter Gripper Mat, the best performance was with Beth Anne’s Finest Cat Litter, an all-natural, clumping, corn-based litter.

“We are thrilled to have an animal behaviorist of Barbara Meyers’ caliber test our Kitty Litter Gripper Mat,” said Carol O’Brien, founder and owner of Cleanicity. “It is incredibly important to us that our product work for our customers and their cats. Barbara’s test is a confirmation of our own tests that show the majority of cats aren’t bothered by the mat’s stickiness and it is really effective in stopping cat litter tracking.”
