Controversial US-Taiwan Thriller “Formosa Betrayed” Gets UK Premiere Through Flynn Film Co.

London, United Kingdom, October 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A film that has been described as a “powder keg of a movie” and one that “illuminates another dark chapter in recent political history... of US foreign policy”, Formosa Betrayed has secured a limited film release in the UK through distributor and festival organiser, Flynn Film Co.

Released last year in the United States through Screen Media the film attracted considerable attention from college students and Taiwanese lobbyists and academics who praised the filmmakers for tackling a forgotten subject that still holds great emotional resonance for some.

Inspired by actual events around the suspected assignation of a respected professor in the 1980’s, Formosa Betrayed follows an FBI Agent (James Van Der Beek) as he assists the investigation in Taiwan. He soon realises that that not only is he an unwelcome guest in a foreign land, but that something even more treacherous is happening beneath the surface that goes all the way to very top of their respective countries.

To support the release of the film which will be made available on DVD in the UK early next year, actor, producer and co-writer of the Formosa Betrayed will be attending audience Q & A’s and attending guest lectures.

Formosa Betrayed will be screened at:
Oxford, Ultimate Picture Palace, 3rd November, 6.30pm with Q & A
Cambridge, Gonville & Caius College, Bateman Auditorium Room at 6.30pm with Q & A
Birbeck Cinema, London at 6.45pm with Q & A
Additional screening details will be announced on the official website
