SEM Agency Association SEMPO Kick-Starts First State of Search Marketing in Europe Survey

European marketing and advertising professionals encouraged to participate in the search marketing survey to document UK and European key trends.

London, United Kingdom, January 18, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) (http://www.SEMPO.org) announced today that it has launched its first survey designed to estimate the size of European corporate spending on search engine marketing activities and to document key SEM trends in Europe. SEMPO, a global non-profit professional association, represents the common interests of 500 search engine vendors and professionals from over 20 countries worldwide.

SEMPO welcomes and encourages participation in the survey by all qualified parties, including search engine marketing agencies, corporate webmasters, in-house marketing professionals and affiliate program marketers. The survey is available for European search marketing professionals in English, French, German Italian and Spanish.

European search marketers are encouraged to complete the survey by Friday, January 26, 2007. Survey results will be available via the SEMPO Website.
The research project is being coordinated by SEMPO’s European Workgroup and is being conducted by JupiterKagan Research. SEMPO plans to release the European market survey results at search marketing and advertising industry events in the second quarter of 2007.

“SEMPO’s European Working Group has been asking for the market data for years, so SEMPO was happy to make this a key research initiative for 2007. We see this as being the first step in establishing SEMPO as the source of information on the search marketing industry in Europe, as we’ve done in North America through our annual State of the Search Market Survey,” said SEMPO chairperson Gord Hotchkiss.

"Given the depth and ongoing growth of our membership base in Europe, SEMPO is in a unique position for fielding this benchmark survey,” said SEMPO Europe working group chair, Mauro Lupi.

“We have a lot of enthusiasm and support for the project from European members and partners. We expect the survey will further empower our members within their companies and the industry,” adds Lupi.
