Synagogue to Hold "Cantors by Candlelight" Cantorial Concert

Glendale, WI, October 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Congregation Beth Israel announced today that it will hold a cantorial concert on December 2, 2010, featuring three up-and-coming cantors.

The synagogue hopes the concert will attract a large audience since the goal is to raise needed funds for family programs and education.

"Concerts have been a longstanding tradition here at Congregation Beth Israel," said Anita Nagurka, executive director of the congregation. "We haven't had one for many years and are excited about reviving the tradition with our new cantor, Hazzan Jeremy Stein, as well as two of his colleagues."

There will be a range of Jewish music performed, both vocal and instrumental, showcasing the three cantors' unique musical backgrounds. The scheduling of the concert on the second night of Hanukkah, sometimes known as the "Festival of Lights," inspired the name.

The concert will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 7:30 pm at Congregation Beth Israel.

Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased through the synagogue's office or on the synagogue's Web site at cbimilwaukee.org. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The synagogue can be contacted at office at cbimilwaukee.org or 414-352-7310.
