Former AOPA President Phil Boyer Featured in November Airplanista Magazine

Airplanista Magazine is an online aviation magazine published monthly featuring aviation news, aviation commentary, and stunning aviation photography. Published by Av8rdan for pilots, aviators, student pilots and the general aviation community. Sometimes serious. Sometimes humorous. Always unpredictable.

Eugene, OR, November 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The November, 2010 issue of Airplanista Magazine (http://airplanista.com) presents a cover story highlighting the airpark living lifestyle of former AOPA President Phil Boyer and his wife Lois. Long before leading AOPA, the world’s largest general aviation owner’s association, Boyer planned for retirement while in the television industry, and now lives in an “airpark community” just outside Cincinnati.

"I was honored to be able to present this story on Phil Boyer in my November issue," said Airplanista Editor/Publisher Dan Pimentel. "He is one of general aviation’s most visible figures, and through his diligent planning, he can now live the life most pilots wish to achieve...to live in a hangar home right on the airport. We can all learn something from Boyer’s story as it demonstrates the importance of setting something aside to help fund a comfortable lifestyle in our retirement years."

In the story, Boyer explains his lifelong love for airpark communities, and how he came to live at Sandy’s Airpark at Sporty’s in Batavia, Ohio. Along with describing what it took to find the perfect site for his airport home, Boyer talks about the camaraderie that can be found among pilots at the general aviation airports located in thousands of cities across the United States.

Airplanista Magazine is published on the first of each month, online at http://airplanista.com. Viewing the magazine is free and requires no sign-up or registration, however there is an optional email notification list established to alert readers when each new issue publishes.
