Francis Cauffman Appoints John J. Plappert as Director of Health Facilities Planning

New York, NY, November 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- National award-winning architecture firm Francis Cauffman has announced that John J. Plappert has joined the firm as Director of Health Facilities Planning. Mr. Plappert brings extensive experience in healthcare design and planning and is one of the leading pediatric healthcare designers in the country.

Mr. Plappert has over 25 years experience in healthcare design. His recent work includes planning and design projects for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, ranked the #1 children’s hospital in the nation. His previous projects include the modernization project of Gourverneur Healthcare Services in Manhattan, NY, helping to transform the 35-year-old hospital to a state-of-the-art facility and planning the rehabilitation of Charity Hospital after Hurricane Katrina, one of the premier examples of the Art Deco architecture in New Orleans.

Mr. Plappert is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has won numerous awards from the AIA-Ohio chapter. He is also a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects. Plappert’s work has been published in a variety of industry publications, such as Contract, Healthcare Design and Health Facilities Management. He studied at Oxford University, UK and received his degree in Architecture from Ohio State University.
