“Mark Dickson has been with the gallery for more than 30 years, so every time we have a show for him we are very excited. For this exhibition we've added a twist and paired Mr. Dickson with Milwaukee sculpture artist Richard Taylor. Taylor's metal work is unlike anything you've seen. It is truly original in both form and design but more than anything the work is pure fun. Dickson's style is purely about color; the layering of the paint and letting the color guide every piece to perfection. Taylor's work is largely about dimension, using artistic topography to guide each original piece. The pairing of these two artists was natural, both gentlemen simply enjoy their individual mediums and it shows through in their work,” states Kristen Hagan, Gallery KH Co-Founder.

Mark Dickson, a 5th generation Coloradoan, has been working in the Denver area for more than 30 years and has earned a significant reputation as both a painter and a printmaker. His paintings, which are large format color-field works on canvas, are abstract and reflect the artist’s reductionism approach to art. He strives to refine the content presented and reduce the composition to the most essential of elements rendering beautiful yet unsentimental color. The resulting paintings are evocative of the joy of the creative process and urge the viewers to participate on a visceral rather than intellectual level.

Milwaukee sculptor Richard Taylor’s public sculptures display an extensive range in style. From his monumental, outdoor works to flowing hanging sculptures, to his playful tabletop creations and lyrical wall hangings, Taylor is profoundly prolific. Taylor’s sculptors are truly chic urban convergences of painting and sculpture. Rhythmic and expressive, they are intimate interpretations of enduring memories. The artist has received over a dozen municipal commissions and over thirty private and corporate commissions.
