Tampa Digital Casts Lindsey Guthrie in Leading Role to Facilitate Development of Commercial, Film & Broadcast Production

Former Tampa Bay Film Commission Manager & promising Film Florida principal plants grassroots production experience with leading visual communications company

Tampa, FL, November 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Tampa Digital, a visual communications company, today announced that it has recently selected Ms. Lindsey Guthrie, a principal proponent of bringing high-profile entertainment projects to Hillsborough County and Florida for several years, to be a significant constituent in growing the company’s new business opportunities in commercial, film and broadcast production.

“Lindsey has a solid knowledge of our industry,” said Rob Tiisler, vice president and creative director, Tampa Digital. “She also has an unwavering enthusiasm in building and maintaining the relationships that will help us to continue to grow.”

Guthrie served the Tampa Bay Film Commission until September 2010. She is currently the Interim Executive Director of Film Florida, a non-profit marketing and legislative support association for which she has also served as vice president and Film Commission Council Chair.

Guthrie helped lead the collective initiative to engineer Florida’s first entertainment industry tax credit, a $242-million program that was made law in June 2010. This action is poised to attract more than $1 billion in new entertainment spending throughout the state during the next five years.

Guthrie joined the Tampa Bay Film Commission in December of 2005 as Film Coordinator, then worked her way up through the ranks to Film Commission Manager, recruiting and overseeing all feature film, television, photography and production-related special events held within Hillsborough County, Florida. She is a Florida native who was born in Deland, but grew up in St. Augustine. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in marketing.

After a three-year stint in television news working as a field producer and assignment desk editor, Guthrie moved to Tampa seeking a new challenge. She is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Gasparilla Film Festival and is a member of Women in Film & Television-Florida and the Association of Film Commissioner’s International.

“This opportunity will allow me to leverage my extensive grassroots experience in the production industry,” Guthrie said. “I am extremely excited about spreading the word about the depth of services and collaborative creativity that defines Tampa Digital’s on-going success in our business.”
