Galveston Historic Hotel – Hotel Galvez to Host Annual Thanksgiving Brunch

Galveston, TX, November 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- For decades, thousands of guests have made Hotel Galvez & Spa, A Wyndham Grand® Hotel, their choice for Thanksgiving brunch. This year’s Thanksgiving Brunch at the hotel’s Bernardo’s Restaurant, created by award-winning executive chef Jerry Helminski, will feature both traditional and non-traditional items sure to please all members of the family.

The Thanksgiving Brunch menu will include traditional items, such as turkey, cornbread stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams and green bean casserole, as well as a carving station, seafood station, omelet station and pasta station. Entrees will include apple-smoked bacon and country sausage, eggs Benedict, cheese blintz with berry sauce, Montreal-crusted top sirloin with gorgonzola glaze and pistachio crusted pork tenderloin with fall mushroom ragout. This year, the carving station will offer prime rib, bourbon-glazed ham and sage-rubbed turkey, while poached salmon, boiled and cocktail shrimp, oysters on the half shell and crab claws will be available at the seafood station.

In addition to its regular assortment of fruits, cheeses and freshly prepared breads and pastries, the hotel’s Thanksgiving Brunch menu will also offer seafood gumbo, Shiner Bock beer and white cheddar soup, walnut salad, grilled artichokes with pesto chicken and assorted chef salads. Guests will have more than 30 desserts from which to choose, including pumpkin and apple pies. Diners can also enjoy free-flowing champagne, mimosas and red or white wine.

Reservations for brunch are required and the hotel is offering seating times between 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Brunch is priced at $49.95 for adults, $39.95 for seniors and $25.95 for children ages six to 11. Hotel Galvez’s Thanksgiving menu has been created by Executive Chef Helminski, who recently won top culinary awards at the Galveston Island Shrimp Festival and Galveston.com Epicurean Evening. Chef Helminski oversees the restaurants at both Hotel Galvez and The Tremont House – A Wyndham Grand Hotel.
