F1000 Reports Journals in Biology and Medicine Are Now Indexed in PubMed Central

London, United Kingdom, November 12, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Faculty of 1000 is delighted to announce that its two review journals, F1000 Biology Reports and F1000 Medicine Reports, are now indexed in PubMed and PubMed Central. Adding an extra dimension to the F1000 service, the F1000 Reports journals publish open access reviews by the world’s top scientists in which emerging topics in biology and medicine are identified and put into a broader context.

From hundreds of important papers evaluated each week by Faculty Members, a range of hot topics are identified, focussing on recent advances and future research directions in the biomedical arena. Short, timely and informative reviews are then written by the F1000 Faculty, or by expert authors nominated by the Faculty.

The F1000 Reports journals have passed PubMed Central’s scientific and technical quality standards and have been accepted for indexing in PubMed and PubMed Central, the world’s largest and most-used biomedical literature database. The full text version of all the reviews are available free of charge in PubMed Central. The journals are also covered by Scopus, Embase, Global Health and CAB Abstracts.

Anne Greenwood, Group Managing Director at Science Navigation Group, F1000’s umbrella company, said: “This is great news not only for readers of these journals, but also for the authors of the reviews. The reviews and the articles they are based on will now be brought to a much wider audience via PubMed Central.”
