Pittsburgh, PA, December 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Jonano announces the inclusion of their signature MaIsse™, an organic bamboo corn based Sorona® blended fabrication into the collections at Material ConneXion's four libraries in New York, Bangkok, Cologne and Milan. Material ConneXion is the world's leading knowledge base for information about new and innovative materials. MaIsse™ has now become part of the world's largest innovative materials library, accessed by Fortune 100 companies, architects, designers, and more.

After being assessed by a panel of creative professionals with materials experience and voted in by a majority, Jonano MaIsse™ will be added to the Natural Category in Material ConneXion's online databases at www.materialconnexion.com and displayed to be touched and felt at their four locations. The focus when selecting new materials for inclusion in their libraries is placed on innovation, eco friendliness as well as a variety of application of new materials.

"Our company motto is From Seed To Sewn. Since 2005, the Jonano production and design team have traveled extensively throughout the USA and North America, Europe, Central and South America, Africa and Asia searching out the best organic farms, mills, cooperatives and factories to create our collections. Our textile labs are constantly developing and discovering new cutting edge eco fabric blends and dye techniques," said Bonnie Siefers, Jonano Founder and Designer about this new fabrication and its recognition.

MaIsse™, the fabric being used in Jonano’s EcoLux Lace Lingerie Collection now available at better boutiques and resorts worldwide, is a blend of several eco fibers that offer unique sustainable benefits. DuPont™ Sorona® fiber provides a carbon dioxide reduction of 30 percent, while the manufacturing process reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 63 percent, compared to conventional nylon made from petroleum. Organic viscose of bamboo fiber offers a fast growing crop that does not require pesticides during cultivation. Viscose from bamboo fiber also offers superior breathability and softness that has been compared to cashmere or silk.

Harmonizing with the Jonano mission to merge boutique fashion design with environmental awareness, their EcoLux Collection focuses on ecological sustainability.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has determined that Sorona® and the generic Triexta apparel fibers made from PTT (polytrimethylene teraphthalate), the latest polymer innovation from DuPont™, offer a unique combination of attributes. “In addition to the performance advantages recognized by the FTC, Sorona® is made in part from renewably sourced ingredients. It is the most transformative polymer to be introduced into the fibers industry in the last 20 years.” said John P. Ranieri, vice president and general manager -- DuPont™ BioMaterials Group. Jonäno has a licensing agreement to work with DuPont™ Sorona® and the generic Triexta apparel fibers.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, Jonano specializes in eco-friendly fashions, fabrications and sustainable business practices.
