Tarrytown, NY, November 16, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- New York-based authors Jerry and Patsy Di Leo are seeking pledges to fund their third children's picture book, Gabriella Counts to Ten in Eight Languages. Those making pledges receive rewards such as autographed copies of the Di Leo's books.
The award-winning authors have teamed up with the Brooklyn-based fundraising website Kickstarter.com to get pledges. Pledges can range from as little as $5 up to $100. For a $5 pledge, backers get a pdf copy of one of the authors' children's books. The $100 pledge gets backers all three of the Di Leo's children's books, three calendars, bookmarks, as well as mentions on the authors' Facebook fan page and an acknowledgment in the book.
Gabriella Counts to Ten in Eight Languages allows children to learn how to count to ten in English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Japanese, and Korean. The book contains colorful illustrations that depict the flags, landmarks, and cultural themes from each country. The character of Gabriella in the book is based on Jerry's four-year old daughter Gabriella.
The Di Leos are hoping to raise $800 for their project. The pledges will pay for the book's illustrations, as well as marketing. If the $800 level isn't met within the 30 day time-frame, the project won't be funded.
