New Road Race Created by B&S Fitness to Benefit Allie Castner Scholarship Fund

Salem, MA, November 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- B&S Fitness (http://www.bnsfitness.com/) the largest provider of fitness programs on Boston’s North Shore in conjunction with B&S Event Management will host a new race called The Black Cat 10/20 Mile Road Race sponsored by 2020 Exhibits. The race will be held on March 6, 2011 at 8 a.m. at the Bentley School in Salem, MA. The event will benefit the "You Hold My World" Allie Castner Scholarship Fund. Allie Castner, a 15-year-old high school student and athlete was tragically struck and killed by a car as she was crossing the street in her hometown of Marblehead, MA in 2009. Through the "You Hold My World" Allie Castner Scholarship, Allie's joyful spirit of life, compassion towards others, and giving nature will live on.

“By supporting this worthy cause, we can all continue to hold Allie’s spirit, her memory, and her remarkable life in our hearts forever,” stated Allie’s uncle Bob Babine. Allie’s uncles, brothers Bob and Peter Babine, are founders of 2020 Exhibits http://www.2020exhibits.com/ the title sponsor of the event.

Runners can select from the a variety of races: a 10-mile or 20-mile course, or participants can run as teams of two to four people in the 20-mile relay race, called Allie’s Relay. A portion of all race proceeds and the team fee for the relay race will benefit the Allie Castner Scholarship. However, individual runners who wish to make an additional donation above the registration fees, can run in Allie’s honor, and all additional proceeds will go directly to the scholarship fund. Relay racers and those individuals donating to run in honor of Allie will receive a special gift. The top three overall finishers in each race and in each age category will also be given awards.

According to Brandi Dion, co-owner of B&S Fitness, “This is a great preparatory race for the Boston Marathon, and we even offer a 12-week weekend running clinic that starts December 5th for those interested in training for this race.” She goes on to state that, “The training program is a great way for runners to keep focused through the difficult winter months and enjoy the camaraderie of others, all while training to run for a great cause.”
