New WorldNav 3500 Motorcycle GPS Features Moped and Bicycle Settings

Boston, MA, November 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- TeleType has released the WorldNav 3500 Cycle GPS featuring a rugged waterproof housing with integrated sun visor and Bluetooth speaker fitted to the helmet. In addition to the Motorcycle setting, the GPS offers a special setting for Moped and another setting for Bicycles, taking into account the differences between each mode of transportation. Routes are optimized to follow appropriate roads or trails.

According to Marleen Winer, V.P. Business Development for TeleType, “The new Motorcycle WorldNav 3500 GPS for bikers, cyclists, and moped users is glove friendly and offers economical touch screen navigation while addressing the special needs of cyclists of all types.”

Understanding cyclists' need to be able to hear the GPS instructions, the GPS includes a special Bluetooth speaker that easily affixes to the helmet such that outside noise is minimized and the text to speech voice instructions are heard loud and clear. Voice instructions pronounce street names in English, Spanish, or French. Example: In 900 feet, turn right onto West Main Street, then turn left on Route 37 North. The bicycle friendly mode optimizes distance and allows bike paths, whereas the Moped mode avoids freeways. The software is glove friendly offering a large keyboard. The system can be used throughout North America and Mexico and offers over 12 million points of interest featuring special points such as motorcycle dealers and repair shops. Recognizing the need for bikers and cyclists to be able to follow special off-road routes, the WorldNav 3500 offers the ability to import static GPX routes allowing travel in off-road conditions. The user also has the ability to store an unlimited number of user created points. Points can be designated by GPS coordinates, addresses, points of interest, and simply by browsing the map.

Once the riding for the day is complete, the built-in media player offers movies and picture playback as well as a an MP3 player for relaxation off the road or trail. The GPS offers easy updating of the maps and software by exchanging the internal storage card for an updated version.

The WorldNav 3500 includes mounting accessories to fit a variety of handle bars and is also compatible to industry standard mounts. The WorldNav 3500 Cycle GPS is available through on-line retailers and motorcycle shops.
