New Anthology Looks at the World of a Poet Up Close and Personal

The Life and Times of Angela Wilson is a self-portrait. It is a woman’s journey through life, a collage of personal experiences and observations that expose and question, and are at times painfully revealing.

Sacramento, CA, January 25, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Life And Times Of Angela Wilson explains real life experiences and occurances through poetry.  What she writes about happens in our society and we experience it every day.

“I walk a million miles day after day
I search and pray for a better way
My shoe’s ragged and torn
My feet's tired, toes are full of corns
I dream of tomorrow
I wonder how it would be
If I cast away sorrows
I search to find my final dream
It’s a million earth years away
I ponder and wonder
What life has in store for me?”

Wilson opens a window to her world, and through it readers may reflect upon the insanity of such a time as ours, where poverty, despair, hypocrisy, and greed flourish and devastate the lives of so many. Yet throughout her poetry, she also reveals the beauty of simple joys, of nature, and of her deep belief in a better day to come. The Life and Times of Angela Wilson is all about hope and passions, and striving to overcome life’s battles to emerge triumphant.

“I’m indelible you cannot harm me
I’m optimistic you can’t tear me down
You’ll never have me it’s not in your books
Try and manipulate me, you’ll end up being the fool
You tried to break my spirit
You tried to drive me to my breaking point
Continue to do so
You still can’t have my soul…”

Poet Angela Wilson was born in Monroe, Louisiana, in 1959, and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. She attends American River College, where she studies art and piano. When she was in high school, she won second place in the Arkansas State Spelling Bee, and then went on to win awards in poetry. Wilson says that when she’s not writing, she’s busy with beaded jewelry making, craft-making, and sewing. She says of her book, “This collection of poems will make you cry, laugh, or they may touch your soul. I hope this book of poems will have as positive an impact on your life as it has had on mine.”
