Dickey’s Barbecue Trifecta Takes on North Carolina

The Barbecue Chain Will Hold Three Consecutive Grand Openings in December

Raleigh, NC, November 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Three of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit’s newest locations in North Carolina will hold Grand Opening events three days in a row. The barbecues Trifecta include locations in Raleigh, Southern Pines, and Winston-Salem. The events will kick off each day at 11 a.m. where patrons can purchase $1 big barbecue sandwiches and also enter to win free barbecue for a year, according to officials.

The Raleigh location will hold their grand opening on December 1st. This Dickey’s is located at 170 East Davie Street.

The Southern Pines event will be on December 2nd at 10564 S. US Highway 15/501.

The Winston-Salem Dickey’s will be on December 3rd at 615 Jonestown Road.

Dickey’s is growing at a rapid pace, now with 134 locations in 32 states. The chains growth rate over the past 2 years is averaging 35 percent, according to officials. "I think it is incredible to have back to back grand openings in North Carolina only a couple months ago we had two location in the entire state," Franchisee of the Raleigh location Greg Woloszczuk said. “It has all happened so fast. Several customers at the new locations have been to other Dickey’s and are very happy we have brought one to their neighborhood.” Woloszczuk is also an area developer for Dickeys. The business man and his partner Maureen are set to open 60 locations in the next 10 years.

Woloszczuk and his wife Maureen which make up GMW Carolina Inc, the company that locally owns and operates the Triangle locations, said they decided to help others open more locations in the state because they thought it would be a great way to share their local business knowledge and help ensure quality through all locations in North Carolina working with other local owner/operators.

“You cannot find better people to work with than those at Dickey’s and they have been there hand in hand with us since the very beginning.” This seems to be the sentiment of all Dickey’s owner/operators. “Our progress is surprising to a lot of folks, but it makes sense to us. People want to get out of the rat race and own their own business,” Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. President Roland Dickey, Jr. said. “In turn, these new stores are employing lots of people who otherwise would still be looking for jobs.” Dickey said that investing a great deal of time and money with Dickey’s in this unstable economy may seem reckless to outsiders, but his company has a “proven system that just works.” “Our Owner/Operators are making a wise investment with us. These people will be successful whether they are in Dallas, in Alaska or in California and the owners in North Carolina are perfect examples,” Dickey said. “They took a leap of faith with us and it’s become a win-win situation for everyone.”

The first Dickey’s Barbecue opened in 1941 in Dallas, TX. The original location is still open for business and Dickey’s Barbecue is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.

Raleigh is a third location for GMW Carolina.

Ronald Bridges and Gloria Perez are franchisees of the Southern Pines Location.
Tom Moore is the franchisee of the Dickey’s in Winston-Salem.
