MS Govern Expands in Colorado
St. Louis, MO, November 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Management Solutions for Government (MS Govern), a division of Harris Computer Systems, is pleased to announce the addition of the City of Arvada, CO to its growing customer base.
Arvada, Colorado (http://arvada.org/) is a beautiful first-ring suburb of Denver, the Mile High City. Arvada retains a small-town feel even with its estimated population of 107,700. The City of Arvada was looking for a system using a modern technology platform, designed to allow its users to easily pull out more meaningful information and to provide better productivity. The City was also looking for online capability to allow businesses in the City the opportunity to complete sales tax licenses and sales tax returns electronically.
The Sales Tax (Self Reporting Tax) module is extremely flexible and easy to set up. It helps create reporting periods based on the City’s business rules. The module automatically calculates the sales tax based on the account, reporting period, entry date and the selected period number. It also automatically computes and applies discounts, penalties and interest when applicable. Sales tax remittance information is received from businesses and data-entered from a remittance form or via the web services eRemittance module. The sales tax and associated fees are then calculated, and the information flows to the Accounts Receivable sub-module so that payments can be collected. With the module’s advanced search functionality, you can easily find an account by account number, category type, entry date, reporting period, and/or period number.
The City will begin the project immediately.
