Award-Winning Authors Release New Children’s Book in Gabriella Series

Mount Vernon, NY, November 29, 2010 --( "Gabriella Counts to Ten in Eight Languages" is the new release from award-winning authors Jerry and Patsy Di Leo. It is the third book in the Gabriella book series, which is inspired by Jerry's young daughter, Gabriella.

In "Gabriella Counts to Ten in Eight Languages," children can learn to count in English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, and Korean. Colorful illustrations by Silvina Maldonado, who did the artwork for the twin brothers' award-winning first book, "Gabriella and Her Bouquet of Friends," have Gabriella dressed in clothes from the country from which languages she's counting. The pictures also include the flags, maps, landmarks, and cultural items from each country, so that young readers can associate the language with the country.

Jerry and Patsy Di Leo were born and raised in Mount Vernon, NY, where Jerry currently resides with his family. Patsy is a resident of Tarrytown, NY. The Fordham University graduates became self-published authors with the release of their first book, "Gabriella and Her Bouquet of Friends," which was recognized with a 2010 Premier Book Award and a Fall 2010 NABE Pinnacle Book Achievement Award.

Their second book, "Pirate Gabriella Sails the Five Oceans," was released in October 2010. It was illustrated by Richa Kinra. (

In addition to the children's books, the Di Leo brothers have published 2011 calendars with pictures from the books. The accompanying calendar for "Gabriella Counts to Ten in Eight Languages" is the 2011 International Gabriella Calendar, which can be previewed at
