The Simi Valley Police Department will celebrate 40 years of service in 2011. The Simi Valley Police Foundation will hold several celebrations. Publishing a Commemorative Calendar is the first undertaking for 2011.
Simi Valley, CA, November 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Simi Valley Police Department is celebrating its 40th Anniversary in 2011 and the Simi Valley Police Foundation has just published a Commemorative Wall Calendar that features 15 historical photo collages and a brief narrative about police department milestones.
The origins of today’s Simi Valley Police Department began in 1971, just two years after the city incorporated in 1969. The first department was called the Community Safety Agency and officers wore green blazers, which covered their firearms in an effort to appear more friendly than militaristic.
From its modest beginning, the Simi Valley Police Department has grown into a full-service law enforcement agency serving more than 126,000 residents in one of the safest cities in the Nation.
The calendar is titled, “The Simi Valley Police Department 1971-2011, A Proud History- A Promising Future.
