)-- Author Colby Van Wagoner releases his first paperback entitled Crow Mountain, ISBN 9781604818024. The suspenseful thriller was released by the publisher Wordclay on October 4th, 2010. The book is written with a western frontier feel, similar to popular westerns of past and present, and incorporates the Navajo legend of the Yee Naaldlooshii, or Skinwalker.
Colby Van Wagoner, first introduced to the Skinwalker legend around the campfire as a young boy, expands on the legend of a tribe of Navajo witches. The Skinwalker is a witch with supernatural abilities and is able to turn into any animal he or she desires. In the paperback the demographic is the four corners area, and the small town of Bluff, Utah in the late 1800’s. The main characters experience horrifying rituals within the Massacre Caves of Crow Mountain, and must escape to break the curse cast on them with the help of a Navajo medicine man.
The book was written in one month and is the first in a three book series expanding on the first release; Crow Mountain. The titles have yet to be released for the next two books; however they will expand on the beginnings of the Navajo Skinwalker legend, and where the legend has intertwined into the present day. The Crow Mountain trilogy will be a thrilling and suspenseful journey for age’s young adult and older.
