Samurai Karate Studio Participates in Give Thanks Walk
Samurai Karate Studio, located in Columbia, South Carolina in Richland Northeast, recently participated in the St. Jude's "Give Thanks" walk, a fundraiser to help support the work of St. Jude's Hospital. The walk was held at Riverfront Park and raised over $18,000.
Columbia, SC, November 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Samurai Karate Studio, located in Columbia, South Carolina, in Richland Northeast, recently participated in the St. Jude's "Give Thanks" walk, held at Riverfront Park in downtown Columbia.
The event was attended by approximately 200 people and raised over $18,000.
Sensei Chris Feldt, owner and chief instructor for Samurai Karate Studio explained, "One of things that differentiates my school from others, is the amount of community projects that we get involved in throughout the year. St. Jude's is a wonderful organization that helps kids with Cancer and what better way to support it than to raise money and awareness."
Sensei Feldt was accompanied by a dozen students who participated in the 5k walk.
"It was a gorgeous day to walk, and we had a great time," commented Feldt.
Sensei Feldt believes self defense is more than just kicking and punching. "Self defense is more than throwing a punch at an attacker," stated Feldt, "it includes defense against disease and indifference." Today, was just a small contribution in the fight against Cancer and to help an organization that does amazing work with kids!"

Samurai Karate Studio teaches a traditional style of Japanese Karate to children and adults, beginning at ages 4 and up. The SKS curriculum includes anger management, Diabetes awareness, acts of kindness, environmental self defense, stranger danger and anti bullying.
