Sterling Heights, MI, November 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press, Inc. has published The Church of Jezebel: Hijacking the Gospel by Derik R. Girdwood. The author's most recent book to date is a 6 x 9 paperback in the Christian religious life category and is available worldwide on book retailer websites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Lined with scripture and a powerful message, The Church of Jezebel is a fine Christian novel, highly recommended. It received 5.0 out of 5 stars by the Midwest Book Review, Oregon, Wisconsin, July 9, 2010. Derik Girdwood weaves a serpentine and suspenseful tale in his new novel as he exposes the twisted theological teachings of some popular televangelists and churches as they try to portray man with the divine nature that the true Gospel reserves only for God.

Christina, aged eighteen, has been admitted to a Bible college and intends to become a mighty servant and warrior for God. Christina’s college roommate, Becky, is dating the pastor’s son and becomes pregnant. A few weeks later the college announces that Becky has committed suicide. A no-nonsense detective informs Christina that Becky was murdered and Christina is a suspect in Becky’s brutal death. Christina’s journey is fraught with twists and turns, but she eventually succumbs to the Jezebel spirit only to find that it almost destroys her. The novel culminates in a mission to Haiti, where nothing is what it seems, and a scandal develops that involves the highest levels of the megachurch.

The Church of Jezebel cites appropriate scripture and examines the Jezebel spirit, false prophets, word-faith doctrine, faith healing, Christ-consciousness, and other beliefs that are so heavily promoted today by many popular televangelists and churches.

242 pages in length, The Church of Jezebel: Hijacking the Gospel is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the Christian religious life category. About the author:

Derik R. Girdwood is an attorney in Michigan and his practice consists mostly of divorce and criminal defense. He is fifty-eight years old and widowed with four adult children of whom he is very proud. His children encouraged him to write a book, and this second edition was inspired by Jackie Alnor’s book, The Fleecing of Christianity.

As a divorce attorney, the author has witnessed just how destructive the Jezebel spirit and other false doctrines are to church members, families, and individuals. This novel may just be a fun and thought-provoking read. The website for this book is www.churchofjezebel.com. Comments are welcome.
